I can’t say enough good things about my stay at the secret base. It was the perfect place to come back to after a busy day in Tokyo. Not as centrally located as some more expensive places but you’ll quickly realize you don’t want to be around the hustle and bustle all day. It was still incredibly convenient with the train station being a short walk or bike ride away! Emiko and her staff were always responsive and took care of everything. There were more amenities than I have ever seen at a hotel or airbnb – I had a jacket that needed a lint roller and of course it was already there. I will say, the warnings about being near a children’s school are correct, you will hear them from about 8:30am to 5:00pm on weekdays, but that’s when you’re going to be out exploring anyway. The bathroom and shower are separate rooms you need to go outside for, and that may be a consideration if you’re staying during the winter months. However, I loved my stay so much and I will definitely be back!
